Excel：超越，勝過

excel [ik‘sel] 做動詞主要有兩個意思

一是： 超越，勝過

所以當外國人跟你說「You excel me」

是指 你勝過了他 / 她

例：

He always hopes that his son will excel him someday.

他總是希望他的兒子有天能勝過他。

除了excel

表達「超越，勝過」的單詞還有：

例：

一般跟介詞in搭配

例：

She excels in dancing.

她在舞蹈方面出類拔萃。

她擅長教英語。

表達「擅長」的單詞還有：

在…方面熟練的

expert這個詞作名詞的時候

意思是 「專家；能手」

后面可接介詞on，at或in

比如：

He is an expert on/at/in lung diseases.

他是肺部疾病方面的專家。

作形容詞的時候

表示 「熟練的；內行的」

后面常接介詞at或者in

比如：

He is expert at/in painting.

他的專長是畫畫。
