昨天大白的外國友人Jeff下班回來很生氣，跟大白抱怨的同事孫姐說帶她他「have dinner」，本以為是邀請他品嘗中國美食，結果最后就只是隨便在便利點應付了一點，讓他有點不大開心。

敲黑板！「have dinner」和「eat dinner」都有吃晚飯的意思，但是中間的區別可大了，小伙伴們跟外國友人交流時一定要注意用法鴨！

兩者的區別

have dinner表示的是邀請別人吃晚餐，是非常正式的；而 eat dinner卻表示只要填飽肚子就可以，隨便應付一下。

如果你愿意的話，我會請我那個姐姐，還有她和我們一起吃晚飯。

Do we stay late at the office to finish a memo， or put it off to the next day so that we can have dinner with the family？

drink soup≠喝湯

因為外國人喝的湯跟我們平時喝的一點也不一樣，他們的湯往往都是非常的粘稠，里面會 放奶油、肉、蔬菜這種需要咀嚼的東西。

正確表達：喝湯=eat soup

He can eat soup just fine with that mustache.

他的小胡子并不礙他喝湯。

In one experiment， he had unsuspecting subjects eat soup from bowls that continually refilledfrom the bottom.

在他所做的一個實驗中，他讓一組事先毫不知情的參與者喝湯，同時不斷地從碗底部給他們添湯。

eat medicine≠吃藥

上面說啦， eat有咀嚼的意思，但是我們吃藥的時候并不咀嚼呀，不然那得多苦。

正確表達：吃藥=take medicine

Her doctor says she has to rest and take medicine twice a day.

醫生說她必須休息，并且每天要吃兩次藥。

Take medicine only as directed， at the right time， and for the full length of your prescribed treatment.

嚴格按醫囑正確服藥，并服完整個療程。

當然啦如果覺得別扭我們也可以用中性詞「 have「來表示

have soup=喝湯

have some medicine=吃藥

have a candy=吃糖

have a drink=喝酒、喝水
