在日常生活中，我們的中文習慣扎根太深，所以很多表達，都會直接翻譯，比如一說到‘洗’，就是Wash，但在英文中，可不一定正確！馬上來看這些日常表達，你都能一次說對嗎？！

洗衣服≠Wash clothes

洗是Wash，洗衣服是Wash clothes嗎？

才不是呢！

用「wash」來表達「洗」，偏向于中式思維。

在英語中，雖然「wash」 的意思是「洗滌，沖洗」，但沒有那麼具體化，不能確定「在哪洗」或「洗什麼」。

洗衣服

「laundry」 指「洗衣店，洗衣房，要洗的衣物」。

比如《老友記》、《生活大爆炸》等一些美劇中，可以看到劇中人物帶著大量的衣物到洗衣店里清洗，這種公用洗衣房就是「laundry」。

「 do the laundry」 才是英語中「洗衣服」的地道表達方式。

當然有時在英式英語中，也用「do the washing」表達「洗衣服」。

情景對話

A： This sucks！ The washing machine is broken！ What‘s wrong with it？ Oh， and we don’t have any laundry detergent either.

A： 糟糕！洗衣機壞了！這怎麼回事？哦，洗衣液也沒了。

B： Honey， just take it easy. We don‘t have to do the laundry at home. Let’s just head tothe dry cleaners.

B： 親愛的，放松心情。我們不用非在家里洗衣服。咱們直接去干洗店吧。

吃藥 ≠ Eat medicine

在中文里一提到吃，就想到Eat，但在英文中關于吃，普遍使用的動詞是Have，吃午飯Have lunch，喝咖啡Have a coffee，要注意的是，吃藥的動詞一定要用Take。

正確用法是： Take medicine

開 / 關燈 ≠ Open / Close light

對于電子設備的開關，不能直接對應中文中的Open或者Close，比如開關手機，電腦，電視，動詞可以用Turn或者Switch
