大家都知道，in+顏色，表示穿什麼顏色的衣服，（in red 是穿紅色衣服，in black-穿黑衣；in pink-穿粉衣）但是，in the red 可不是指紅色的衣服了，in the black也不是穿黑色的衣服了，差了一個the，意思可就差遠了。

be in the dark 在黑暗中、被蒙在鼓里，不知情

一般用in the dark來表示人處于黑暗的環境。假如一個人be in the dark，那是指這個人可能對某件事不知情，被蒙在鼓里。

I‘m as much in the dark as you. 我和你一樣毫不知情。

in the blues 悶悶不樂

當 blue 指「憂郁」的意思時， 1）表示憂郁，一般以復數形式 blues 出現。 2）以單數形式 blue 出現時， 既可以指心情不好，也可以指天氣不好

。 3）以單數形式 blue 出現時，表示天氣陰沉或氣氛陰郁多于表示心情不好。 4）如果想說心情不好，就用復數形式 blues，或干脆用 depressed.

in the bag 十拿九穩， 囊中之物

be in the bag，表面翻譯「在包包里面」，東西已經進自己口袋了，所以成功率非常高，十拿九穩了。

in the clear 清白，無罪， 沒有危險的， 不受責備的

He has recently had a successful surgery so he looks in the clear for now.

最近做的手術挺成功，所以現在他看起來恢復過來了。
